Is button an Atom or a Molecule?

I am working on a ‘Design System’ and I am still working on the typography part which is an Atom.

I am scratching my head to conclude whether ‘Button’ is am Atom or a Molecule according to Atomic Design Methodology.

According to the structure of Atomic Design a molecule is made of 2 more of atoms.

Buttons have different attributes such as:

  • Color
  • Size
  • Shape
  • Color
  • Flat/Bordered
  • States (active/enabled/disabled/progress)
  • and “Labels”

According to my understanding ‘labels’ should be derived from Typography which is an atom.

Please share your feedback on the comments section.

Many thanks.
