Visualize your design skills & accelerate your career growth
- Wondering where you stand as a UX Designer?
- Wondering what your strengths and weaknesses are as a designer?
The story — the designer’s dilemma
Recently, someone from a WhatsApp group messaged me, asking what course or program he should take to further grow in his career. He said he wants to work for companies like Meta and Google. He was working for an MNC as a senior designer. He came to me with a couple of programs asking me to verify them.
My simple answer to him was, they do not guarantee jobs in companies like google and meta. He kept asking, “Please, please, help me and suggest something.
I didn’t really have an answer for him, and I could easily relate his story to mine. With total 20+years of IT experience and about 7 years of experience as a UX designer, I wonder what can I learn next to grow.
I once checked with my boss who is a great designer and founder of my company “How about doing an M.Ba. in Design” because I want to grow as a Designer leader. His simple answer was “you learn by doing”, for this you need to closely work with great designer leaders.
As a designer mentor, I am always on the hunt for resources that can help new and transitioning aspiring designers learn and grow, and how existing junior designers can gain more knowledge.
I always wondered if there was a tool that could assess my current skills and suggest what I should learn next. To my surprise, Pulse from Uxcel.com does exactly that.
