What a wonderful 2019 its been!
Its still Mid-March and the achievement continues:
- Design Thinking Certification from Interaction Design Foundation
- Read 3 Good Design Books
- A new job within 5 months and
- My First ‘Design’ Workshop
Where there is a will, there is way.
The opportunity came to me at the right moment through my lead Kedar Nimkar.
The requirement was to have students of different college to participate in competition organized by Communication Catalyst Competition ( by Glenmark Foundation in Association with Idobro ).
The problem statement was to apply Design Thinking and come up Innovative Ideas to solve the problem of ‘Malnutrition’.
I had just completed my “Design Thinking certification” in the first week of March and luckily I had some bandwidth to work on the workshop because I was on a notice period with my previous job.
I was a bit hesitant to commit but I thought why not leverage the opportunity for the following reasons:
- Revise ‘Design Thinking’
- Spread the love of ‘Design’
- Accomplish a wish from my ‘Wish List’
I have always been keen to provide training/mentoring to freshers/juniors in my team and after having done some development workshops I thought this is the good opportunity to start mentoring in the ‘Design’ space.
The Crowd
Why I am calling it a crowd is because the expectations was that there will be approximate 10–12 design or engineering students but to my surprise they were more than 30 from different streams with zero knowledge of Design.
I would like to commend Mr Vijay Gawde who was the co-ordinating professor that the students were very Active, Interesting, Co-operative and well disciplined.
They were able to come up with interesting ideas without having any Design/IT background. They recommended a solutions which is a mobile app, a website, some services and making using of different mediums.
